Promised art of General-Fieldmarshal Erwin Eugen Johannes Rommel aka "Der Wustenfuchs" of Deutsche Afrika Korps during the Second World War.
Rommel was leading allied forces of the Third Reich and Kingdom Italy during the entire North-African campaign from 1941 to 1943. He recommended himself as a brilliant commander right from the first battle. Even before the main forces of wehrmacht arrived to Tripoli, he had thrown all his machines against british army, which far outnumbered germans. Rommel was trying to disctract his opponents from the destruction of italian forces, but this counterstrike was so successful, that british forces were thrown back at 1000 miles for less than two weeks.
Remember, I promised to draw Rommel in Valiant Hearts: The Great War style, but as a commander of Deutsche Afrika Korps? Well, here you go. Actually, there is really much more to tell about North-African campaign, but I think that this little desc will be fine. Also, during the work I thought that it would be nice to see some kind of spin-off or something, like "Valiant Hearts: Afrika" (Written specially with K, copying the german writing) or, if you want to stick with WW1, "Valiant Hearts: Austrian Heights". But, I guess that will remain my little dream. Okay, I lost control of myself. After all, the pic is more important here. So, enjoy!
